The new BattPAT battery powered Portable appliance tester is a simple, easy to use, manual 'GO-NO-GO' portable electrical appliance tester. The BattPAT PATS tester has clear Pass or Fail LED indicators that show if the 240V portable appliance or mains leads being checked are electrically safe. Just press one button and the BAT PAT performs earth test and an insulation test for Class 1 earthed appliances with a separate pass or fail indication for both. When testing extension leads and computer IEC cords / leads it performs a polarity test as well. The BATTPAT can also test surge protected extension leads plus it has long lead feature for testing extension leads in excess of 20 metres.

The BATT PAT tester has a robust anodised aluminium body with a tough membrane keypad and fast rechargeable integral battery pack which can perform up to 500 tests per charge and if the battery runs flat on a job then the fast recharge circuit (approx 1 hour) will allow you to run the machine of the mains supply until its charged up again.

PAT Training Services also suggest performing common sense visual indications on appliances to check for any obvious defects that may affect the safety prior to using the BATT PAT. This small hand held unit is ideal for most office applications as it performs fundamental safety checks on Class 1 (earthed) and Class II (double insulated) 240 volt UK portable appliances.
